Gift of Books

Title I educators are invited to apply for a Gift of Books grant from Mary Pope Osborne to bring Magic Tree House fiction books and nonfiction Fact Trackers into their classrooms helping students build a love of reading while exploring history, science, the arts, and the world around them.

Please review the information below before submitting your proposal.

In your proposal, please let us know how you plan to use Magic Tree House books and/or Fact Trackers in your classroom, including cross-curricular use of the books and any other information that you believe will set your proposal apart!

Applicants must represent a Title 1 school or an afterschool or summer program for students in underserved communities.

If you are awarded a grant, please wait a full school year before applying again.

More than one teacher from a school may apply for a grant and/or books may be shared among multiple teachers and classrooms.

Proposals will be evaluated by our committee of educators and grants will be awarded to those Title 1 teachers with the most creative and concise plan. Award amounts typically range from $100 - $300 per grant.

Winning schools will be notified via email by a Classroom Adventures representative and will include information on registering with our partner, FIRSTBOOK.ORG so that each winning teacher may use their grant money to order MTH books from the First Book Marketplace where books are available at very low rates.

The mission of Mary Pope Osborne's Gift of Books is to inspire children to develop a lifelong passion for reading and to use Jack and Annie’s adventures in the Magic Tree House to explore the wonder of worlds outside their own.  Over the years, Mary has donated over 1.2 million Magic Tree House books to underserved children around the country.
